Ginetta Meet
Ginetta, a trumpet player, singer, and composer who’s one of the
brightest rising stars on the scene today. A dedicated artist who
possesses a fresh trumpet technique and a vocal style that commands
attention, Ginetta has studied and played most styles of music ranging
from classical, jazz, blues, pop and Latin to Russian folk songs! She
studied at North Texas State University in addition to being taught by
trumpet masters Marky Markowitz, Spanky Davis, Ted Curson, Willie Ruiz
and Howard McGhee.
Her love for
Latin music has resulted in a long-standing association with Caiman
recording artists Las Chicas de N.Y. She has traveled extensively
with the group as well as having appeared on numerous Spanish television
shows with them here in New York, South America and Puerto Rico. In
addition, her other steady freelancing work in the Latin music business
has given her the opportunity to play every style, from cumbia to
salsarengue. When it comes to the Rhythm and Blues department, Ginetta has for many years been the trumpet player and honorary “Holmes Sister” for Rounder recording artists The Holmes Brothers. She also played with Blues great Albert Collins. Besides being a soulful singer, Ginetta is also a talented song writer who has fronted many bands of her own and been nominated for an SKC New York Music Award for her efforts. Her band, Ginetta's Vendetta, has been together for seven years in various incarnations. Always charismatic, Ginetta fronts the band with her high octane performance and incredible trumpet and vocal chops. She writes all of the vocal tunes and covers only the funkiest instrumental classics. Ginetta just completed her La Dolce Vita CD which which is a compilation of a dozen of her best recordings spanning the past decade. It is available online and at all of her live performances. Artist Constance Seugling has created a painting which was inspired by Ginetta's "Can Our Tears Put Out The Fire" single and is on display at the Viseglia Gellary in Caldwell, NJ.
